Rachel Butlin: Textured Haberdashery Necklace
In this workshop you will learn how to use a traditional rolling mill to transfer patterns from lace and textiles into metal to create a beautiful pendant detail. You will then use jewellery techniques such as piercing, soldering, drilling and filling to create a bespoke shape of your choice. This will then be combined with textured wire shapes, hand stitched thread details, punched letters, vintage buttons and haberdashery to create a stunning layered necklace. All materials and equipment are provided, including copper for the pendant, silver wire and a silver chain, however if you wish to create your pendant from silver Rachel will have sheet silver available to buy on the day from £10. You may want to bring your own buttons and haberdashery to personalise, and textured fabrics and lace to imprint into the metal.
The workshop is 10 - 4pm
