Katherine Richmond: Riveted Silver Jewellery workshop

In this workshop Katherine will guide you through the steps to design and construct at least one item of jewellery, such as a layered pendant or brooch, using found materials and precious metals. You will start by experimenting in copper with a variety of traditional silversmithing techniques such as annealing, filing, forming, piercing and texturing and will then be shown how to make two different styles of rivet using silver wire, before creating your very own unique composition. A selection of found materials will be available for you to use but please bring your own drillable wooden, plastic, rubber, leather, paper or cardboard found treasures to incorporate such as small trinkets, haberdashery, broken jewellery etc. NB there is an additional £15 fee for silver, to be paid to the artist in cash on the day.

The workshop is 10 - 4pm
