Curious Clare: Nature’s Rainbow- botanical ink and chalk pastel making workshop

Create your own range of botanical inks and chalk pastels derived from food waste and locally sourced plant matter. Discover nature’s colour palette on your doorstep and incorporate it into your art practice. This is an introduction to techniques for making your very own natural inks and chalk pastels including preparation, modification (fun chemical colour changing reactions!) and preserving processes. All materials are provided but please feel free bring along your own waste materials such as avocado stones, onion skins and colourful flowers that you have dead headed. Do also bring along a pestle and mortar IF you have one!

The workshop is 10 - 4pm

Information for art workshops:

Full payment will be taken at time of booking (this is non refundable or transferable to a different workshop). However if you workshop has to be cancelled due to Corona virus you will of course receive a refund in full.

We are continuing to space participants apart to ensure social distancing is maintained, are keeping both doors open for ventilation, and are asking participants to wear masks when moving about the space.

All materials and use of equipment are included, but please do obring along your own waste materials such as avocado stones, onion skins and colourful flowers that you have dead headed. Do also bring along a pestle and mortar IF you have one!

Please bring a packed lunch. However cold drinks, tea & coffee will be provided.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by a participating, paying adult.

Please be aware the workshop artists retain the intellectual property to their own ideas- you cannot go into business making, or running workshops showing copies of the artists work. You can however use the ideas for personal use and with your own students, if you are a teacher.
