Rosie Deegan: William Morris Inspired Brooch

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” –William Morris.
In this workshop you will hand-pierce one of William Morris’s famous repeating pattern designs into a piece of sheet copper or brass. Choose one pattern from some of his most popular designs; ‘Strawberry Thief’, ‘Golden Lily’ and ‘Sunflower’ and watch it turn into a beautiful piece of art as you cut the pattern out. You will then use traditional metalwork finishing processes until your piece is ready to solder your own hinge and catch on to the back, to create a beautiful (and useful!) doubled-pinned brooch.

The workshop is 10 - 4pm
